I am running MJ on a thin client, HP 5700 that i bought off Ebay.
Hoping this would help my audio issues. I still am getting echo
and sometimes the audio i receive is scratchy and breaks up.
I did however notice, when i hook a headset to the actual handset
it works perfect. Anyone out there know of an adjustment or something
i can do to make the handset work the same way as the headset?
I am using a new Panasonic expandable phone system.
I am using a powered USB hub on the thin client.
I am almost out of hair do to frequent pulling...lol
Thanks in advance for any assistance.
BTW, this is a new gen. MJ

Perhaps the audio levels are too high for your phone. Try opening the softphone, click on the menu and select "Volume/Headset control". Once you have that open then select the "Telephone" button to select the audio levels for the telephone. Try setting both the speaker and microphone about 1/3 of the way up (from the left). See if that helps if it does then you can fine tune these settings for best audio levels withput overdriving your phone.dhart94 wrote:I am running MJ on a thin client, HP 5700 that i bought off Ebay.

Sad Times Ahead for this Obamanation !!!! Psalms 109:8

Also try using another phone. A plain, corded phone is a good place to start. See if you can eliminate the Panasonic as the root cause.dhart94 wrote: I am using a new Panasonic expandable phone system.
proxy server
How is that done, sounds pretty hard to do for not so computer literate humans......
Take a look at http://en.wikibooks.org/wiki/MagicJack/ ... ces/How-To
But my way of doing this is to download WireShark (google for it), and run it. When you start up MJ or make a call, WireShark will show you the MJ proxy you are connecting to. Then you just need to block it by opening a DOS (command prompt) box and adding a route to the bit-bucket. For example, if your proxy is New York, you should see connections to 216.234.64.8. To block this, in the DOS box you type:
route add 216.234.64.8 mask 255.255.255.255 192.168.1.4
where the last set of numbers is an address on your local network. Some folks have had success with using unused address. I have not - I have to use the address of an active machine - in my case I use the address on my local network of my network printer. The intent here is that any packets destined for 216.234.64.8 will be sent by Windows to the unused address (or in my case, my printer) and therefore no response will be received by MJ. MJ will then try another proxy.
