Local Incoming Calls

Post by bobemartin »

Regardless of all the pitfalls that I have read on the forum one of the biggest drawbacks I have seen is the fact that local callers in my Verizon home area can't call my MJ telephone number as a local call. This to me is a deal stopper for sure. Unless I can work around this situation I guess $20 a year is not bad for long distance. However, I can now do the long distance stuff on my cell phone. So I will more then likely cancel MJ after my first year. I am open for suggestions.

When Google opens up their GoogleVoice beta to the public (currently only available to former GrandCentral users, but should be public soon) you can sign-up for a free local phone number, and configure GoogleVoice to ring your magicJack number. This is how I use it.

Google Voice Beta

Post by bobemartin »

VoipDude could or would you send me an invite for Google Voice Beta so I can control my Magic Jack telephone number. I understand this may be one of the quickest ways to get Google Voice. My email address is: [email protected].

Thanks,
Bob Martin
