how do you transfer a call with MJ

If you mean "transfer" in the traditional sense (answer a call, and send that call to a different phone number), there is no way I am aware of.

MJ does offer call forwarding, but not transfers AFAIK.

There is a transfer option available. Look for the topic disable voicemail and it gives the directions to achieve this. Another option is to get Magicbeans and it has the ability to transfer (forward you calls) to another number phone number after a certain number of rings as well. I transfer to my googlevoice number after four rings and that rings my cell and my MJ both after that. It's the best solution I have found so far and with googlevoice you can transfer to any of the numbers you have setup after picking up the call by pressing the *key on your phone.

Those are both variations on call forwarding, albeit useful ones.

If he's looking for a traditional transfer feature (after a call has been picked up), then I think he's out of luck. Usually this feature is combined with 3WC, which our MJ lacks.
