MagicJack overloads cpu on Windows 7

Post by comsark »

I have an HP Pavilion M9517c desktop computer quad core, 8 gb ram, 2.20ghz, Windows 7 Ultimate 64bit. When I plugin the MagicJack, within 30 minutes the cpu peaks to 80-85% usage and the MJ becomes unrecognized. I can reboot (taskmanager says only 3% used, google cpu meter says 80-85% used) and after the reboot the cpu useage goes back to 3% for awhile. Originally the system had Vista home premiium, did something similar but it totally lost all usb devices except the mouse and keyboard.. When it does lose the MJ it shows up in "Computer as an unrecognizeable cdrom drive. Anyyone have any ideas?

I also have Windows 7 Ultimate, and I absolutely do not have this problem.

So your's meets the same specs as mine? The MJ works fine for me on a different machine with Windows 7, just not this one.

No, I don't have a Pavilion, I have an Intel motherboard machine I built myself.
