MJ made a change in about June last summer and the techique no longer works. Do a search for ATA and there are methods to make MJ work again. But in that method, you need to keep a PC running.

Not necessarily...it may not work without a proxy of some kind, but mine works just fine with nothing but an ATA running. I know there are at least three different hardware versions of the MJ device so it's a guessing game about what's needed to get it to work.

I had to set my user-agent field in the SIP settings in order to get my ATA up and running, but other than that the rest of the SIP credentials with the SIP proxy is all I needed.

So...good luck is in order

Did you get an ATA setup?
