MJ hangsup when pickup the phone
I'm running MJ on Linksys PAP2T/dd-wrt/mjmd5. I have the Uniden 1560 cordless that gave me no trouble for couple of months now.
I suddenly have the following problem. When the phone rings, I pick up the cordless, hit the answer button, but the phone hangsup.
Any ideas? Wondering if it is a Uniden problem or PAP2T setup issue.
Thanks

Tried the wired and cordless. It seems like with the cordless the problem is more frequent. But it also occurs with the wired phone but rarely.
Tried also a new VTech out-of-the-box, but have same issue. do you think it may be a setup in the ATA? Any ideas/suggestions?

Any explanation on what is wrong with the ATA?
Thanks
Some more info, I noticed that the phone hangs up when I press the answer key during the ring. If I press it during the "silent" period it goes through nicely. I also noticed that when it hangs up, I can hear this grr.... noise, like being in pulse mode instead of tone mode. My phone is set in tone mode of course.
Any ideas?,
Thanks and have a wonderful New Years Eve.

There is two possible issues:
1. There may be an issue with the line card and it is not handing off to talk battery mode when it goes off-hook. So, try using a different line card and see if that clear things up.
2. Some CPE devices does not line trapezoidal ring waveform (sometimes referred to a modified sine wave). Under the "Regional" settings about half way down "Ring and Call Waiting Tone Spec" change it to sinusoid mode. (Don't forget to switch from "Basic View" to "Advanced View" to see the additional options. The pulsing sound you are hearing is the ringing voltage being passed on to the receiver and the ATA is not handing it off to the battery side for the voice circuit.
Wishing you the best of luck. At least there is an additional line card to utilise before sending your ATA to the rubbish bin...

That's my quarter's worth, but not enough to call someone who really cares at a pay telephone booth...
Changed the line cord but this didnt resolve the issue. Tried the "sinusoide" solution but unfortunately it was already configured that way so this is not it. I also tried the other optin "trapezoid" without success. Any other ideas and tweaking to do? It looks like the Regional page of the Pap2T has a lot of parameters that can be teaked.
Thanks
Thanks
Folks, I may have a solution that works for me.
Under "Regional" down towards the bottom of the admin page, there is a ref "Callee on Hook Delay". It sounded like it could help my problem and I changed it from 0 to 1. From then on it works fine its been about 3 days now and about a dozen of answered calls. Hope it stays that way, I luuve my MJ/ATA/MJMD5
