It's a bummer as I bought the Magic Jack mainly for calling three of my out of state friends and stinks that I can't call one of them (and was able to for the first five weeks of using MJ). Anybody have this type of issue? Any ideas that may fix it? Should I go back to MJ live support chat? Hello all! I spent 45 minutes on the live chat with Magic Jack but it did not fix my issue so was curious if anybody else may have the issue I've been having. I can't seem to call my friend's home number in Vermont. I could call this same number the first five weeks I owned my magic jack. But for some reason now all I get is "Trying........" and then it will disconnect after 40 seconds. All other phone numbers go through fine. I called my friend from my sister's last night so his number is still functioning. Tech support had me do a few things with the last uninstalling USB Internet Phone by Tigerjet. He stated that when I restarted my computer everything should work. I restarted and the Vermont number still will not go through. I took notice that it reinstalled the Tigerjet automatically when I plugged my Magic jack into the USB port. Troubles
I came online to see if anyone else was having trouble today besides me. I would think it's probably a magicJack problem. I don't use mine that frequently so it's not plugged in all the time. Today when I plugged it in it wouldn't "download" my contacts. I could check my voice mail and call my home land line but could not call my mother in Virginia. All day it would try, then I would hearing it ringing, then nothing. Just tried again a few minutes ago; still the same thing. Tomorrow it or Monday it will probably be fine.
