There are 5 total Area Codes in the State of Iowa. Why would MJ only provide 4 of them and not the 641 area code?
I keep hearing it is coming, it is coming... but it never comes.
Please add the 5th area code to cover a large portion of Central IA (641). There are lots of people like myself that would like to use the MJ, but without our area code available, they cannot use it.
Oh, sure you can sign up with one of the other ones, but then all my local people must pay an LD charge to call one another.
Maybe Google Voice has that area code for you ( it's free) and then you can have people dial the Google voice number and have your MJ ring.
Just a work around till if/when MJ gets your area code.

Well, perhaps Google Voice would have that area code, but I have NO WAY to get Google Voice. I wanted to do it that way, but to the best of my knowledge there are NO new accounts being given out for Google Voice. I even use Gmail, and can't get one.
Are you sure??? Last I heard there were still GV #'s. IF NOT, maybe someone here has an extra GV invite they can give to you. I know I had an extra one and gave it to someone and she loves it.
Maybe make a new topic asking ( nicely of course) if anyone has an extra GV invite, can't hurt right??

Thanks for the tip, Joe. I'm not sure which forum to put the request in; but I'll look and try something. Having GV could certainly solve my MJ problem.
Thanks for the tip.... yes, I have registered there, but no invite showed up. I can't remember when I registered, so perhaps it hasn't been long enough yet.
Too bad you can't find all this bad news out BEFORE you purchase a MJ.
Sorry, but I'm losing my sympathy for your situation. As Joe pointed out, you could easily have checked the MJ FAQ to see if your area code is available. I just checked; it isn't. However, most folks want to use MJ to save on outgoing long distance. Also, you would have found this out during the free trial period when you went to register.
There are lots of voip providers with varying and sundry features. Good luck on your search for an acceptable area code.
