Headset v. handset

Can someone tell me if there is an advantage to using a headset over a handset in terms of quality and in solving some of the typical problems that a lot of people are having.

None that I know of. You can try it and see if it works better/worse for you.

I use a Sennheiser corded USB headset for my home office phone, and a cordless Panasonic for the home. Both give me the same voice quality as far as I can tell. The headset, of course, frees my hands while I'm working online (a good speakerphone can work as well), and I dial using the numeric keypad. It really depends on your situation.

Actually, I use a headset with my cordless phone so I can use the handset to dial, instead of the soft-phone. The headset saves my neck and shoulders.
