Phone Line Selector/Switch

Post by twinclouds »

I would like combine my existing POTS phone line and Magic Jack. There were some automatic phone line switch discussed on the web. Essentially, it works as follows. You can plug in two lines into the input ports and one phone at the output port. Incoming call from either line will ring the phone at the output. When you make s call, it will go out to the default line unless you select it specifically for the other line. It is perfect for my needs but somehow, such devices are not on sell in the US :( . Anyone know why it is the case and is there any place I can buy it?

I have used the AX522 switch since I bought the MJ. Works great. On outgoing, I enter #0 to select the other line (VOIP in our case). The main system is a Uniden base station with up to 10 handsets. I use 4.

I also have a regular cordless plugged into the local line. When someone is on that line, the AX522 defaults to the MJ line, a handy feature.

I bought the MJ in June 2008 with this switch. So far so good. I ordered it from Cooltronics in the UK and it got here in two weeks.
For the fun of it....Keith
