No incoming calls after 2 minutes of starting magicjack

Post by Malobye »

I have a D-link router and when I hook up my computer directly to my modem magic jack works but when I hook up my D-link DIR-625 I can call out but after 2 minutes incoming calls go straight to voicemail without ringing. I have been on the phone countless times to magic jack and also countless times with D-link. Please help me I need precise instructions as I tried to open port 5060 and port 5070 UDT and 80 and 144 on my D-link and when I test to see if the ports are open it says they are not open. :x

Here's what seems to be working for me so far, via MagicJack chat support:

Especially after a restart of the computer: quit MagicJack, & remove the USB device. Let it sit for 1 minute unplugged. Plug in, launch. Sometimes you need to restart via the MJ Menu on the software window.

I also noticed the issues seemed to be related to running my chat software (iChat using AIM). But the above steps have seemed to fix the incoming call situation regardless of the chat software running.

This was on a Mac running OS X 10.6.2.

I probably should also mention that they had me run the Mac updater quite a few times, in fact every time I was on support chat I had to do it, even if I told them I just ran it 15 minutes ago.
