MagicJack just upgraded itself and now I am unable to safely remove hardware to use usb port that MJ is in for other devices.
Does this upgrade allow me to just unplug the device without causing problems
like the need to reformat the device because you did not remove safely?

RE: latest upgrade 3-2-2010
I have used XP SP3 since it rolled out. Prior to this last "upgrade", I had no issues in safely dismounting my MJ either. This upgrade was indeed a surprise.
freesytlegreek, SP3 is worth the time to install with all the Microsoft fixes it addresses but may not help much with our dismounting USB situation. If you decide to update and for some reason it does resolve the issue, please let us know. Thx!
jroman, FWIW, I am one of those whom agree that stopping the MJ service or any device related service prior to disconnecting is in good practice. Benefits: preventing possible data loss, reducing the potential for registry or Op Sys corruption and minimizing the need to reformat the MJ. Yes, I'm "old school", as platforms prior to XP did not handle disconnecting without un-mounting first very well due to write cache issues and users usually ended up with the dreaded BSOD.
My question: has anyone noticed any improvements with this latest "upgrade"?
