Hello there!
I am so glad to find this forum. My Father and I have just recently been a new Canadian customer of Magic Jack. We are liking this product, but I am finding we have a few small issues with it. I was wondering if this is common.
Incoming Caller ID does not go to my phone, I have to look at the computer to see who is calling before I answer. After talking to tech support they said because I don't have another computer (to install MJ) or another phone to use, they can not help me.
So anyone have issues with using this phone: http://www2.panasonic.com/consumer-elec ... 0000005702
I am not sure if it's the phone, the firewall, or what. My father has Bells Vista 350 telephone and he has the same issue as well. I will re-search the forums again to see if I can find something on this issue.
Also I was wondering what the caller ID looks like when coming on screen of the phone. If I have a person's number in my phone will it show the name too?
As for the call waiting, I can switch to the other line but I have to go to my computer to switch back to the other person. Is this common too?
Again thanks for everyone with the information I received tonight, what a great forum!

As it stands no. You can not see the name OR see the call waiting caller ID on your phone. As it stands.TNewton wrote:Thanks for your reply.
Like stated, I actually did do a search but I guess I needed to search for incoming Caller ID instead of Cordless phones, Caller ID or any of the others I searched. Sorry to be a bother.
What about the call waiting issue I am having? Is that apart of the above problem too?
HOWEVER there is an addon called MagicFeatures which does JUST THAT( plus a lot more). WELL worth the $10.. http://www.pcphonesoft.com/
I use it and it works well!! There is a 10 day trial so there is nothing to lose.
Hope this helps and never a bother as a lot of people here are willing to help. Of course there are a few, NOT YOU, who take offense to being asked to search first and their reply takes a personal attack. They rarely get helped, by me anyway..
Let me know how you make out..

I was actually talking about the call waiting problem (sorry I am not good with wording I guess).
I found that when a receive a 'beep' and go to the other line, I can't use the actual phone to retrieve my first call, I have to go to the computer and click on resume.
Is this above issue going to be solved with the first link you sent?
Thanks for the 2nd link BTW. I am looking on the site to find if this is a one time cost (ya, right) or monthly, or other.

It COULD be your phone not allowing you to switch back to the orig caller.
That being said, I have never tried it myself. Every time I got another call I was always at the end of my orig conversation and didnt need to switch back.
Maybe someone else here can say if they have had luck doing that.
Oh and that is a ONE TIME COST of 10 bucks..
