From what I have gathered from MJ's site, Linux is currently not a supported OS. If you look in the FAQ's on www.magicjack.com there is mention that Linux will be supported soon (1st Qtr 2010). Whether or not this will actually happen remains to be seen.

[EDIT]

My goof up,

I was thinking you were wondering if MJ worked with Linux.

Sorry!

I can't see any reason why you couldn't make it work. I am not all that great with linux, but I have been able to get mjproxy up and running on Tomato and DD-WRT with basic knowledge.

Does not work in Linux

I haven't tried too extensively, but even installing WINE and other emulators (sorry, compatibility layers), I have not been able to get MagicJack to work. Lucid Lynx (Ubuntu) is coming out soon, maybe it's worth trying then.

Obviously, if it ever does, it would be wonderful, but I don't believe it's possible now on machines running Linux (Debian-based or otherwise).

I would love to be proven wrong on that one ....
