MAGIC JACK NITE MARE
Hi I read a few blogs and funnily, it sounds like we all getting jerked around by the Customer services people at Magic Jack chat..
.hmmm.. Cos I did go through two sets of people for help.. and it always ended with the request to rate their customer services... And I also noted that "WHAT they promised, is NOT what you get.." cause I used my magic Jack ok when I first started and then I bought another set to try out the connection between two devises with one out of US territory and then NOTHING happened..except a ring tone and when the other party picked up there was music, or a click off sound AND they were never able to communicate with me..THEN the WORST part I was that I couldn't even use the rest of my INTERNATIONAL paid time to make overseas calls because it just WOULDN"T connect...HONESTLY, I am beginning to think SKYPE works tons better...AND its days later and I still have yet to receive my 'lost minutes' for UNCONNECTED calls using my paid International call time.. YEP they should get A TONY for Customer NON SERVICE and an Academy Award for NON PERFORMING TECHNICAL back up/ support service.....I am trully frustrated..

I have to agree on the CUST SER
It has to be some of the worst I have encountered. It is neat that we have sites like this.
For someone who does not know PCs when MJ acts up or does not install easily, it would really be a prob, though.
I struggled a good bit, called and chatted w/ MJ 5 times. Figured out right quickly they were following a script that was not too detailed, plus they did not have a good command of English. I could not get mine to install, and finally I figured in my case I had to take my router out of the picture to get it to load properly. When I hooked the router back up, all was well.
That was me. My bro-in-law across the street had no probs, and he has the same router setup.

I purchased a MagicJack with the promise of free long distance calls and the magic of placing calls through my computer. This lasted for a while. Then the company decided to release MagicTalk to a select few people as a Beta test and here is where my problems started. I wasn’t one of the lucky ones to get the program but I was one of the unlucky ones to get the popup demanding the number to activate the program I didn’t get. Now, the story gets better. Since I don’t have this number I cannot get rid of the popup and as long as the popup is there I can’t use MagicJack. I now don’t have MagicTalk and I can’t use MagicJack.
I decided to contact customer support. What a mistake! I had contact with nine or ten different people (technicians?) over a two day period, wasting about seven or eight hours. They all claimed they could solve my problem but when they couldn’t or wouldn’t spend the time, they just disconnected me and I had to start all over again. If you have a lot of time to waste and like the interaction with “technicians” who are clueless, go for it. If you value your time and money, find another way to communicate through your computer.
