Warning: You must plug magic jack into USB
A few days ago I got a trojan. It messed up a lot which I have fixed except for magic jack. It wiped out several drive letters, mj being one of them. I've tried unplugging it, you name it. Anyone know how to re-install it? Device manager recognizes that it's there. I can't access it. Any help?

Sadly you may have to restore Windows via your rescue CD or via an image partition. IF you have neither of those your only recourse is to format ( to make sure the virus is gone) and then re-install Windows.jhtrek wrote:Thanks. Didn't work. It seems to be a bigger issue. I can't get windows to recognize the other missing drive letters either so it's not just MJ. Ahem. This trojan has something blocked somewhere that my anitvirus and malware remover are not finding.
Of course in doing this all of your personal stuff is gone...
In the future you may want to look into imaging software. I have used Acronis for years and it has saved my butt more times than I care to count.
Good Luck
