I plugged the MJ dongle into my new netbook running Windows 7 Starter. It loaded and a bunch of updates ran. But the MJ does not show up and is not in the program menu either.

You need to unplug the dongle after the updates for about 15 seconds then replug - it should have mentioned that as part of the update process, if i remember correctly.

Also, there is a Win7 specific update you can download.

Here is where to find it:

http://www.magicjack.com/8/customerCare_windows7.asp

This is the instructions that come with the Win7 update -

Update for magicJack users with Windows 7 ONLY
(do not use on any other operating system)

WARNING: YOUR MAGICJACK MUST REMAIN PLUGGED IN.
If you remove your magicJack during the update you may not be able to make or receive calls.

Plug your magicJack in and wait for 60 seconds.

To update your magicJack, please CLICK HERE and download this program to your desktop. After the program has been downloaded, double click "magicJackUpdate.exe" and follow the prompts.

After completing the update, unplug your magicJack, wait 15 seconds, and plug it back in
