Slows down hardware detection on BIOS
I have a very weird problem. I've had a MagicJack for about 2 years and have had very few problems with it, until now. I just bought a new motherboard and when i have my MagicJack plugged in, it wrecks havoc on my computer during startup. For instance, it slows down the computers startup to a CRAWL. by startup, i actually mean during the BIOS startup, before entering windows. When i watch the hardware get detected, and it lists them by IRQ, this screen takes about a second to show all of the devices, but without magicjack, it is instantaneous. Next, when detecting my hard drives, it takes 10 or 15 seconds per hard drive, but w/o MJ, it takes a second. The Verifying DMI Pool takes a minute, then the screen freezes for 30 seconds. If Windows 7 decides to start, it takes a long time. but once its in windows, its fine. I've tried moving it to different USB ports too. Any idea what would cause this? I'm running a Gigabyte motherboard, a P4 Core 2 duo, 4 GB of memory, and Windows 7 64-bit.

that doesn't seem to change anything.bitstopjoe wrote:Even though it shows to boot from the hardrive there is another section in the CMOS where one can turn boot from USB on and off. Just for $hits and grins you may want to hunt around in the settings JUST to be sure it is not set to on or yes..
Just a thought...
