Poor Sound Quality

Post by phillipnewberry »

How do I begin. I'm totally beside myself why I continue to punish myself and use this phone. It sounds so bad people say I sound worse than Skype and I'm talking thru a tunnel or words are so broken up that no one cna make out what is being said. I've worked with their technical support and have gotten knwo where event thru all their esculations....Their technical support have been no help at all.

My system is as follow MacBOOK Pro 10.x Connected wireless to Linksys router that links to a Comcast Cable modem with speeds up to 6 Mb/s.

I've done all their silly scripts. Whats next?[/b]

I forgot to add, I would appreciate anyone adding a valuable answer or solution before I cancel this service. I just don't see the point in having something I can't use.

You might review some of the many threads on the fourm that deal with this issue.

first of all your using wireless, use wired connection to the router. Second if your router supports qos, Setup qos , thats the best thing.

A couple of things to try:

1) if your using a cordless phone, try switching to a corded phone and see if the problems clear up. Not all cordless phones are created equal plus with your Mac connected via wireless to your router, you might be having interference if your cordless phone is 2.4 GHz

2) search this forum for info on figuring out what proxy you are using and try changing the proxy. I used to have a terrible time with echo, noise, and dropped calls until I switched proxy servers - problem went away.

Also, you might try to raise the priority of the MJ process to see if that helps (that also helped on my windoze box).

Good luck.
