Maximum cord run from dongle to hard phone
I am new to MJ. 3 weeks ago i bought the new updated dongle to give MJ a try. I searched thru postings here as best as i could and found loner then a 5 feet run may be a problem. If i get high quality phone cord can i make it 20 - 25 feet as i dont want the hard phone on top of the computer.

I've always had my phone connected to the dongle by a 25 foot cord and never experienced any problems regarding that. I do have the dongle connected to a powered USB hub.
After reading through many, many threads on this forum and seeing the "condition" some of my friend's computers are in, I've come to the conclusion that most people's problems have more to with their PC than the magicJack. MagicJack seems to be a bit "touchy" and if you have two dozen programs (many that aren't needed) running at start up you're more likely to have a problem.

I bought a cheap powered usb hub at walmart for about $20 and have had my whole house wired up to my MJ without any problems. I wont be using the whole house wireing as i am retaining local POTS w/o any frills / no long DX carrier over that POTS line. The MJ is an AUX 2nd line .
