Getting MJ started on Mac OS 10.4.11 with Intel

Hello,

I cannot get MJ to even start on my iMac. Each time I plug it into the USB port, it says to unplug it. I follow the guidelines and wait at least 30 seconds before trying a different USB port. I keep getting the same result.

Can someone please help?
