Constantly have to replug magicJack in USB port

Post by cparsons »

Problem:
magicJack works fine when it's plugged in for an hour or two, but after that, if I get a call or make one, I experience horrible distorted audio quality. To solve the problem, I have to unplug magicJack from the USB port and then plug it back in.

Is there a way to make magicJack work without constantly having to replug it in the USB port? After all, it's not like I can predict when I'm going to receive a call.

I'm grateful for any suggestions!

I'll mention here as I did elsewhere, but one of the things that makes a computer MJ ready is that both the USB and ethernet ports are set NOT to shut down to save power. I would think if this were happening you wouldn't get anything, but it is something to check.
