I just got the Contacts list is empty message today. This is the second or third time this has happened since MJ changed the way contacts are stored; I expect it will continue to happen as time goes on.
Is there any way to make a backup of the Contact list (assuming it does come back) so I at least have the numbers available? Luckily, I had a copy of AddressBook.xml from the previous iteration of MJ and have most of my numbers. I had my backup program automatically back up that file each night. I would like to do the same for the current Contacts list.
Thanks,
Ken Gash

Re: Backing up Contacts
Since around March of this yr all of our contacts have been saved on MJ's servers and not on our PC's. So what was the point of backing up the AddressBook.xml file since it has not been updated since about March. You would have been better off putting that file on a floppy or thumb drive as opposed to backing up a file that has not changed since March. Just my opinion.kgash wrote:I just got the Contacts list is empty message today. I know the people who make MagicFeatures ARE coming out with a program to do exacly what you want, back up your contacts.

Thanks, I'm glad to hear that MJ folks are going to give us the ability to back up our contacts.bitstopjoe wrote:Since around March of this yr all of our contacts have been saved on MJ's servers and not on our PC's. BTW, I didn't mean that I kept backing up the same file. As long as the xml file was created locally on my PC, I backed it up and when MJ changed, the backups stopped.
