features plugin, at least with mine, = fail
I'm not sure what I did wrong, I set everything up right. When I tried to use the features plugin, it was somewhat confusing with jaws, with all the speed dialing, etc, tables all right there. But that's not the main reason I uninstalled it. It seemed to completely kill all inbound calls. They never went to voicemail, they just, now it says my number's been disconnected. So I've uninstalled and removed all traces, pulled the mj and restarted and it seems to have not resolved. System restore? Format the thumb drive part of the dongle?

It is probably a Magic Jack Server issue. Give it a few hours or a few days, and it should work. Can you make outbound calls? Also go to http://my.magicjack.com and log in. Click on my subscriptions, and make sure that the call forwarding feature is disabled. Also, try your MJ on another computer. How the speed dial table is set up is that you have to enter the name in one box, and the number in another box. For example, at the first 1 edit box, you would tipe in the name. In the second one edit box, you would type the telephone number. That is how it is set up.

Got it fixed. It was a goof on my part that call forwarding had gotten enabled. I couldn't really tell where I had to enter my number for voice mail and where to enter it for call forwarding which I don't have set up for a reason. Anyway, it'd be a little bit easier if, for example, you have a speed dialing button, a selective reject button, etc, and then that's where you can enter the names, to streamline the main window. I like the program, and I may reinstall it, but it could be a little difficult to navigate.

Glad that you got it fixed. The Magic Features Plug In could see improvement to the tables regarding accessibility, however it is quite useable. It was confusing to me at first, but I figured how to use the program. It also offers Talking Caller ID using your Sapi 5 voice, but you can turn that off if you have a phone that has talking caller ID.

Since the brand new magicJack dialer has disabled accessibility, one or two requests have already come in for help from users that relied on it.
As you are aware Magicfeatures already has text to speech capabilities in it that are currently used for speaking out the caller id name and number.
If you check out the Magicfeatures feature description here http://www.pcphonesoft.com/featuredetails.html you will find that many popular features like Do Not Disturb, Last Number Redial, Call Return, Call Forwarding Enable/Disable and others can already be dialed from the keypad of your phone just like you would with a featured landline.
The ultimate design goal of Magicfeatures is to provide a featured landline calling experience without the necessity to touch your computer or rely on using the Features Dashboard. Some more development is required to convert a few more features so they can be enabled/disabled from the phone keypad but that goal is not far away at the moment.
For us to expand that capability to speak out critical call information and tie it to a new "Accessibility" option is definitely feasible. There is no doubt that there are others with needs similar to your own that would find it useful.
As an example, Magicfeatures could be enhanced to speak out the numbers dialed from your phone keypad and also speak out when a feature has been activated or deactivated via your phone keypad. Even the call waiting caller id name and number can be spoken.
If the latter makes sense to you and you are willing to be a private beta tester for the above endeavor send an e-mail to [email protected] . You will get to keep and use the resulting new Accessibility enhanced version of Magicfeatures.
