Is My Phone Going Bad?

I've had some odd magicJack behavior lately and I beginning to wonder if the phone plugged into it is going bad. Here's what's happening:

Occasionally when I turn on the computer in the morning I only get a continuous dial tone. Only disconnecting either the mj from the computer or the phone from the mj and restarting mj makes it work right.

Tonight I noticed magicJack.exe wasn't running. I don't know when or how the program was terminated. Restarting worked.

I have a few questions:

Does magicJack have an event log? I looked in the Windows 7 Event Viewer and saw nothing related to the mj.

Has anyone had similar problems, and how does the mj respond to a bad phone?

Do you think it could be a phone problem?
