San Antonio TX area problem with outgoing magicjack calls

Post by khaase44 »

Here in San Antonio (210 area code), when I call out to any phone number, I get 3 busy signal beeps then it hangs up if no one answers. If someone answers then there are no beeps but the receiving party and the sending party cannot hear each other. If the receiving party hangs up and then calls the sending party, the phone rings on the original sending phone and the sound is perfect. I called technical support at MagicJack and reported the problem
I also checked another magic jack customer's phone and they were having the same problem. (Different computer; different dongle, different magicjack number). Wondering if others in San Antonio are having the same problem.

I did take the time to do a search and read your post before I posted. I just wanted to know how many people in my area were having the same problem as I since it just started on Oct 13, 2010. Also, I wanted people to know that I contacted Magicjack and that they were looking into the problem.

You don't have to be sarcastic.

If you think telling someone to take the time to search a MUCH discussed problem is sarcastic you have NO IDEA what you are in for here..
I was nice, others, not so much.. next time I will say please.....

Have fun the next time someone tells you to search.

I started having problems this week as well.
I just moved and thought it might be that.
I had this same problem about a year ago.
It lasted about a week.
I can call other MJ # and have received a few calls from non MJ #, but I can not place calls

Some Numbers Can't Be Called

Post by cljoy »

WEre having the same problem here in Maine. Fairpoint Communications is our carrier and we can call some numbers in 207 area code others we can not. Has been going on for over a month now. We got the same response as everyone else an offer of a refund. Is there any difinitive answer to what is going on and will there be a fix?

Please go to this thread and add the area code + Exchange you're not able to call. It would help if you could also add the phone company that owns those exchanges:

To call the blocked area codes and/or numbers, set up a google voice account ("GV"). Use your MJ to call GV, and then call the number you want to contact. Another poster suggested this several weeks ago and it works.

Mj problems in San Antonio

Post by khaase44 »

I'm happy to report that as of this afternoon Oct 15, 2010, we are able to make outgoing calls to numbers in our area code (210). Apparently, mj got on this right away. kudos.
