I recently ran into a problem today where any call made into my Magic Jack number results in the caller being sent to my voicemail, and being told that I'm unavailable. I am still able to make outgoing calls just fine, and I'm really perplexed as to what the problem could be.
Anyone else run into this and can offer a solution? I know the MJ chat is an option but I hate talking to those guys.
Outgoing calls work, but all incoming calls go to voice mail

here
You must be new around these parts.
One of the penalties of not availing yourself of the forum 'search' facility is you have to run the gauntlet of MJ tech chat.

Searching these forums is fruitless, someone help
The only response I got from my problem concerning all my incoming calls going to voicemail was someone telling me to search the forums.
That would be great is the search function actually brought up intelligent search responses that did not require me to click on every link until I find the one thread that applies to my question.
Can someone else help?

IF you are using the short extension cord which came with your MJ, don't as it causes many weird problems. Also try to use a REAR usb port as it does make a difference. Plus check to see in device manager in the USB section that none of your USB root hub(s) has power saving setting enabled ( check them all as there are more than one). Lastly if none of that works you may need a POWERED usb hub as your USB port may not be supplying MJ with enough power. And yes a search will turn up the hub a lot of us use, including myself.

I noticed that you hate that extension cord almost as badly as you hate Obama. I use it since a couple of years daily without any problems and with no difference in quality and I know 2 other people who do. I know that this is not statistically significant and I do not deny that this cheapo dongle extension may cause problems in some cases, I just believe that it happens far less often than suggested on this forum.IF you are using the short extension cord which came with your MJ, don't as it causes many weird problems.

ONLY because I help many on here whose problem turned out to be said cord. Are they all bad? no. I have see some work and then go bad for no reason. So I always suggest that cord as I have seen it cause weird crap. As far as Obama? I am eating breakfast and I prefer to keep it down, so no comment.cell14 wrote:I noticed that you hate that extension cord almost as badly as you hate Obama. Oh and you are wrong about the hate, I don't hate the extension cable
All kidding aside I don't hate anyone, not even Obama, I DO hate what he and his ilk are doing to this country though. As I told someone in the Lounge section a while ago, I didnt have relatives die for this country fighting communism and socialism to have it brought here and forced upon us.
