Error 20

Post by cp0421 »

I had my magicjack setup for about a year with an HP Thin Client running Windows XP Embedded. I have no other software on this computer & there is no antivirus installed or firewall running.

The Thin Client was dedicated entirely to my magicjack and left on 24/7. Suddenly in about September it stopped working. I get the "Error 20" message when I reboot the computer or the magicjack software.

When I plug the dongle into my regular PC -- no problems, it connects fine -- so I know it isn't a hardware issue. I have tried manually updating the magic jack software, but I can't seem to get it to complete.

Anyone have similar issues or know of a solution?

Help! I miss my magicjack :(

Don't know why it would suddenly change on you, but here's a link that might/might not help:

if you can not install the update then it sounds like your flash is too small for the "LUCKY YOU" update. your TC will now need at least 512meg flash. if your going to upgrade the TC, spend the extra and get the 1 gig flash. lots of info in the TC section of the board

dfhawk: Thanks! I will check that out when I get home. Previously I hadn't found an answer to how much the update was.

Make sure as well that your MJ is allowed to Full Access from your firewall or any protection software installed to your system.
