Call forwarding shutting itself off???

Post by conniemadagain »

My call forward shut itself off ...

Just found 8 old messages from callers that should have connected to the call forwared number ...

Went to my account and sure enough call forwarding was off ...

Is there a time limit to call forwarding???

Anyone else?

FYI, I did check it to be sure it was on by dialing the number way back when ...

I bit ago ( a month or so) my voicemail was reset to default, password and outgoing message. It is possible they did some system wide reset which affected call forwarding as well... Do you use Magicfeatures?? If not I wonder if those users were affected too..
Just something to keep an eye out for and test from time to time..

I just discovered that today too, and had to reset, and my other one wasn't call forwarding, just going to a busy signal, so I changed to a different number and then back to the one I wanted, and so far, so good, as it 's working properly again, for now ;)

I noticed a change on my dialer today, a "click to add" tab for international and additional years on the bottom left. So they may have reset other things in the process, like Joe mentioned.

Which leaves me to believe it was a MJ glitch...

I haven't proven it definitively, yet but I could swear that forwarding shunts to to vmail, if you are already calling out on your MJ line. At least sometimes.
Enjoys a daily VOIP cocktail made from:

-One shot Magic Jack
-One shot TK6000
-One shot NetTalk Duo
-Two shots Ooma (it's bigger)

Shaken, not stirred.

Google Voice is the chaser.

Same issue 2x

Post by NotSoMagic »

In the last week to week and a half, I had my voicemail and voicemail code reset not once but twice! I lost my outgoing message and worry that someone can call into my messages.

Someone from MagicJack, please fix this.

Since no one here works for MJ your plea will not help. Sadly you might have to go to MJ online support chat for help.. Unlikely they will help but hey, worth a shot...

MagicJacks response...

Post by NotSoMagic »

I chatted with Tech Support and they said it wasn't a system-wide issue. They presumed, "It maybe the changing of your pin and also there might be someone who did access your voicemail without your permission, and it is advisable for you to change your pin"

But I didn't change my pin before the auto reset occured.

So, in the end, MagicJack reset my account one more time on their server in hopes to prevent this from happening again.

And, oh yea, now I need to re-record my outgoing greeting and reset my pin code.
