MagicJack Account has 2 different numbers

Hello,

I just came across this forum tonight while googling for a problem I have with my magicjack.

I've had magicjack since late october 2010 and I love it. I've used it mostly with a usb headset on my laptop as I don't have an actual phone to plug into the magicjack, just yet. Only annoying thing I found is I have to plug my magicjack into my laptop everytime I want to use it, instead of just opening the magicjack program.

Tonight, I heard about magictalk and how I could just use that for calling from the laptop. I went to their site and I thought they were a different program/company altogether, I downloaded the program and signed up for a free account (it gave me a weird number *0100148751*) I didn't know it would be tied to my magicjack account. So now I have this extra number that I do not want listed in my account

Is there a way I can get rid of this number and just use my regular magicjack number when calling right from my laptop without the magicjack dongle?

Hi tjmartin,
Since you're not using an actual phone, there IS a way to run MJ without the dongle.
