Magic Jack not recognized after reboot
I installed XPe with SP3 on a HP T5720 with 512MB RAM / 512MB Flash. Everything went fine except now when I reboot the computer the MJ does not startup automatically. The HP USB redirector in my startup bar shows that the USB device is not recognized. When I remove the MJ and put it back in everything works. I read through a few posts that said to move the mjsetup.exe to the allusers startup but this did not help either. I also read something about a usb powered hub but don't want to use another device. Does anyone know if there is a fix for this issue. My usb keyboard and mouse work fine after reboot so not sure why its not recognizing the magic jack. Pls help.

Nothing in particular. I just chose the version it said would fit on the 512/512. Is that the reason why the MJ does not start upon restart because per other posts I see the same issue when they were using the lower version. Thx

The following is copied from the MagicJack knowledgebase:
-Begin Copy-
1. Please go to control panel, click folder options, click the tab named view, check View hidden files and folders, click apply, click OK, and close control panel.
2. Go to C:>documents and settings>[your name]> Application Data> mjusbsp> in00000.
3. Copy the file named setup and close that folder.
4. Click the Start button, click All Programs, right click the startup folder, and choose open all users and paste the setup file into that folder.
5. Your magicJack will now start on bootup.
-End Copy-
Two things...
1. It's not mjsetup that gets put into Startup, it's setup.exe (personally I just put a shortcut to it in Startup)
2. I didn't put the shortcut to setup.exe in the All Users/Startup folder, I put it in the Administrator/Startup folder. Administrator is the account I log on with. It didn't work for me when I put it in All Users/Startup.

Hi Kevin, thx. That worked and now the MJ is starts automatically on reboot though I put it in the all users startup area. I do however notice that it seems to be booting up twice. So I see it come up with the Magicjack key logo and than it completes but the dialpad does not come up and than the logo starts again and than it boots up completely. Is that normal?
Another thing I would like to do is try to use the regular user account to load MJ instead of the admin account or even better use it as a service so that no one has to be logged in for MJ to be running. I tried logging into the regular user account but it does not recognize the setup file and MJ does not startup when I login to that account. Any ideas?

Don't hold me to this, but it's my understanding that you must use the Admistratior account in order for MJ to load, operate and update. Probably has to do with write permissions.
This was why I put the shortcut to setup.exe in the Adminstrator/Startup folder.
I don't use MJ as a service so I can't speak to that. Sorry.
