I have read lots of negative things about MJ around here and thought I would post my experience with MJ over the last little while. I have had a MJ for a year now. I have mostly used it for traveling and occasional use at home. It has worked flawlessly. 3 weeks ago I attached it to an old computer I had around (2 GHX, 512 MB ram, USB 1.1) I have wireless internet (2.5 MB down/ 1 MB UP) and attached a cordless phone to it. I wanted to test this out with the goal of canceling my long distance. My family has been using it at all times of the day and various call lengths and I have to say I am impressed. The call quality is very good. Granted its not major phone company quality but it gets the job done. There is the occasional digital noise and cut out but it works good. So for $20 a year it's an awesome product. If you want perfect call quality stay with your major phone company.
I sure hope they adapt this to a product like nettalk and then it will almost be perfect.

I agree rrcole. I've had mine for right at a year and it's been very close to perfect too. When I first got mine, I reduced my landline to the minimum service in an attempt to preserve my 12 year old phone number. This past August, I gave up on MJ ever being able to port in a number so I cut my POTS and went naked DSL. All in all, total dollars saved over a 12 month period is just under $475 bucks. And that's INCLUDING my purchasing a thin client and a NetTalk TK6000.rrcole wrote:........The call quality is very good. Granted its not major phone company quality but it gets the job done.
