Hi.
I've been using MJ fine for several months now. When I plug it in my MAC, A window pops up and tells me to double click the application icon to start up. When I double click the magicjack icon it begins to start and works fine. Has been until I renewed last January.
After renewal, things started falling out.
When I plug the MJ, no window pops up. MJ is not recognized at all (it doesnt even show it is attached to my MAC). I ve spent SEVERAL hours with online support some of whom even gave me snarky remarks, but nothing.
Ive tried plugging the MJ to all my usb ports directly of course, but nothing.
Ive tried restarting the system over and over, nothing.
Ive checked firewall (which is not even activated), still nothing.
Ive done the upgrade so many times, no improvement.
When I click the upgrade, the keypad pops up. Above, it says: MAGICTALK, please connect to the internet and double click here. (Before it used to say Magicjack, now Magictalk)
So I click it, and I go to the MAGICTALK reg page so I close it.
To the left of the keypad it says: Please be patient a registration form will appear shortly, I order for MJ to function, you must fill out the reg form..."
But the reg form never comes up. I tried signing in to my account in the hopes that would be sensed as being registered, but still, nothing.
I plugged in the MJ to my sister's VAIO and the same thing: not recognized at all.
I plugged it to a desktop computer and all its 10 usb ports, the smae thing: not recognized. its as if it doesnt exist.
PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE HELP.

Sounds to me as if your MJ went bad, sorry. Since the problem follows your MJ dongle no matter what PC you plug it into, logic tends to make one say your MJ is bad. The only time the MagicTalk screen comes up is when your MJ dongle is not seen by the USB port..
If you bought your MJ directly from MJ, contact them ( via online chat) and see if you can get a replacement from them. If you bought it locally I am not sure they will send you anoter, but it doesnt hurt to ask.
