Obi110 and Obi100 back in stock tonight with coupon!

Post by laserjobs »

Later this evening and/or tomorrow, the OBi100 and OBi110 will be available at Amazon.com.

OBi110 http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B0045R ... g=mjs08-20
OBi100 http://www.amazon.com//gp/product/B004L ... g=mjs08-20

We have implemented a separate coupon code for each product, which will be required to arrive at the $43.99 & $49.99 price for the OBi100 and OBi110, respectively. Up to four (4) units of each model may be purchased at a discount by an individual Amazon customer. The coupon codes may be used one time and one time only by an individual Amazon customer.

Coupon codes and offer descriptions:
OBi100
OBi100 Coupon Code: HELLOOBI
For a limited time, up to four (4) OBi100 units may be purchased at $43.99 or $16 off the Obihai Technology list price of $59.99. The regular list price of $59.99 will apply to all subsequent purchases of the OBi110 by the same customer.

OBi110
OBi110 Coupon Code: GREATBUY
For a limited time, up to four (4) OBi110 units may be purchased at $49.99 or $20 off the Obihai Technology list price of $69.99. The regular list price of $69.99 will apply to all subsequent purchases by the same customer.

In summary, any single Amazon customer will be able to buy up to four (4) units of the OBi100 at $43.99 and four (4) units of the OBi110 at $49.99.

As with any Amazon.com coupon code, customers will apply this to items in their shopping cart at checkout.

In the Amazon.com, "Review and submit your order" area you will see an area on the right titled, "Do you have any gift cards or promotional claim codes?" There is a window below this, which allows you to apply the coupon code(s).

Should you have difficulty applying the coupon code, you may need to remove the item(s) from your shopping cart and shopping history, then add them and apply the coupon code(s) again.

Sorry, link doesn't work, it doesn't show the list price for the 110 as $69.99 (rather, 84.99), and applying the Code comes up 'error'.

Not an easy thing to do at this time.

EDIT: OK, I see that it should change "later tonight/tomorrow" so there's 5 more hours left for today...

The obi is a great device and works well with my service. If you buy one and fine that you want a more reliable service then Google voice and e911 we are running a promo right now for $45.00 for 1 year of our Residential Unlimited* service.

I guess Amazon is slow to show inventory since this is straight from Obitalk. The product should be available in the next day or two, including the new Obi100.

Got mine! (Obi100). Darn thing looks so small - almost half the size as the 110.

Hopefully this will end my streak with magicJack and sipsorcery, although I'm still counting on mJ to be a reliable backup in case Obi/GV goes down which I doubt.

I am not sure I want to jump on an OBi100 until I know it works as well as the 110. ANYONE here who has a 110 has also used/tried a 100? Is it exactly the same, works as well as, except sans telco port??

Thanks

I went and looked at the 110 but the asking price is $85. I tried using the discount code on one listed at $70 and it said it was invalid. :(

I would have bought 1 at $50 today, but just didnt see that deal anywhere on Amazon.

Looks like Amazon has not checked in the stock for the Obi110 yet. Give it some time and I am sure it will be available too.

The 110s are available today with the promotion code. So I picked 1 up for $49.99 shipped. :) So next week I'll have something new to play with.

Thanks for the info laserjobs, I really appreciate it.

Both are in stock now. The main difference between the Obi110 and Obi100 is an FXS port is on the Obi110.

I went for a OBi100 since I don't need the FXS port ( thanks Lisa :)

It should be be here tomorrow. I will forward my MJ calls to the OBi ( GV#). I just hope the caller id will show the orig MJ caller not my GV # which forwarded the call(s).

We shall see.

Happy to help! :)

I wish I could trade in my OBi110's for a pair of OBi100's. :(

Good luck with the setup!

I haven't done any testing with magicJack in ages, but I'm pretty confident that you're going to find the inbound ANI of calls forwarded from magicJack to Google Voice will display so you will have correct caller ID information. :)

Enjoy!
Thank you.

Lisa :)

Lisa I am sure there are some people here who would be willing to buy your 110's and if not here maybe locally on Craigslist or even on Ebay..
BUT since they are working for you and there is only a $5 difference in price currently on Amazon, why not just keep them,
I know I know you were only thinking out loud but for some reason I heard you :)

I just did a quick test and had my MJ forwarded to my GV. My cell number showed on GV, not my MJ number.

Cool thanks John.. If this works out well, I may just renew my MJ in Aug for $20 and have both the Obi and MJ for my calls. I can disconnect the MJ hardware and still have my MJ#. IF and when GV allows porting then I MIGHT port my MJ # over to GV. BUT in case GV is no longer free next year I still have my MJ.. So kinda a win/win...

Thanks for doing the test....

Disposing of the OBi110's is more trouble than it's worth. I'd have to buy the OBi100's first so I wouldn't have any down-time (Gizmo5 is supposed to take a powder this weekend.) It's not clear to me that Obihai will support second-hand OBi100/110's either. So, someone buying them second-hand could be in for an unpleasant surprise. I'm not sure how Obihai would know though.

On the other hand, I'm not above returning the OBi110's to Amazon.com. I'm toying with the idea of buying a pair of OBi100's and returning the OBi110's. The down-side of this move is that I'd have to pay for expedited shipping to ensure I have the OBi100's in time to still be able to return my OBi110's. As I write this, I'm finding that I'm not too wild about this approach either. :?

It's not the money. The OBi100's are narrower and I'd be able to put two of them side-by-side in the little space where I used to have the PAP2T for Gizmo5. Now, I have one of the OBi110's where the PAP2T was and the other sitting on top of my computer tower case. It's unsightly and I don't like it. The stupid OBi110 cases's aren't stackable or made to be stood up on their sides either. They're wall-mountable, but some silly goose designed the OBi110 case with the mounting keyholes upside down.

Hmmm, I'm not whining, am I? I sure hope not! I have a phobia about turning into a liberal.
Thank you.

Lisa :)

You're welcome. Sounds like a decent game plan, even from a fellow "ignorant" MJ user. 8)

Well I think he was baiting me into a reply, because it worked. And that was almost my point, although as usual I took longer to say it. :D If anything it's smart to use something cheap like MJ to see if voip is good for you, then move on to something better.

I was trying to think of something worse than being called "ignorant" for using a MJ, so the only thing worse than being called ignorant, is being called a Democrat. But come to think of it one can't be one without the other :)
I know what you mean about sending it back to Amazon. Even though they pick it up on their dime, unless you pay for next day you will be down for a bit. BUT they do not come right away to pick up the old units, you might be able to time it right that the day of the pick up is the same day you get the 100s as they order the new ones before they get the old ones back. I have had that happen several times. Just a suggestion.
I am sure you can get by a day or two with your cell right?

Amazon seems to be out of the discounted OBi110s, while they seem to still have the OBi100s with the discount

On another note, Laserjobs, thanks for the heads up on this deal, do you have a newsletter? :D I just got my OBi110 today and have not even bothered to set it up yet since I have run out of people to call. Seriously, my Magicjack works great, my duo works great and I suspect that my OBi100 will also work great. Now if I could just get the courage to drop my PSTN line.

Are there anymore sub $50 VOIP thingees in the pipeline?
