MJ overloads Wyse 9150 and S90, but OK on 941GXL

Post by spoolin01 »

I've read the threads here regarding use of MJ on the Wyse 9150SE, and seen it and the S90 listed on eBay for MJ use, but I'm not getting them to work usably. I've got one of each (they are the same CPU from what I've read), also a Wyse 941GXL. I can get MJ to run fine on the 941GXL, CPU load during a call seesaws from about 40-80%, with no lags or interrupts (though even something as simple as closing a window causes a hiccup in call continuity). I've been unable to get a usable installation with either the 9150SE or the S90 - CPU usage goes to 40% with the dial tone, and pegs at 100% once I dial a number. At best I can hear brief fragments from the answering party. Nothing else is being run or done on the PCs during MJ use.

The 941 has 2GB flash/256MB RAM, the 9150 and S90 both have 512MB flash and 256/512 RAM respectively. All are running their standard current Wyse XPe images with some extraneous stuff removed (Citrix, Sun), and the only added component is the up to date release of TightVNC. The pre-MJ free space on the 512MB flash modules is about 50%. After installation, I've tried with the EWF left off or re-enabled, no difference that I can see.

I was hoping to get the MJ to work on the smaller, lower power device, but am stumped. Can anyone think why this isn't working?

Is anyone using MJ on Wyse 9150SE or S90?

Post by spoolin01 »

I didn't have any luck getting a response to my first post. Is anyone successfully using MJ on the 9150 or S90 these days - is it possible the current MJ releases are more demanding?

I'm checking with MJ about the particular MJ dongle I've got. I read that earlier ones were more processing intensive, but there seems to be some variety of opinion about how to identify new vs old and whether the visual differences go hand in hand with the performance problem.

When I use the MJ on either the 9150SE or S90, I get a message to the effect that the USB Controller Bandwidth is exceeded, or something like that.
