Using MagicJack Hardware as a RJ11-USB adapter

Post by germanliu »

Hi everyone. I want to use magicjack hardware for a different use.

I have a phone line with a RJ11 cable.
I have my notebook without RJ11 input.
I have magicjack hardware.

I want to make calls using my current phone line (not through the internet) from my computer. Simply use the computer as a telehpone. Is this possible?

Thanks and Regards!

The answer to your question is no. Your magicJack USB dongle can only be connected to a regular telephone.

You cannot connect the magicJack USB dongle to a working phone line. A working phone line carries voltage that can damage/fry the magicJack USB dongle if you try it. Don't even think about it.
