Magicjack: I do not understand

I have had Magicjack for almost 2 years. Up until now it worked differently. I was never able to shut it down the way I can now. Recently I received an update and now I can right click and restart. Is this something new?

Now when I click on the X in the upper right corner, it warns me it will shut down. It used to just minimize it.

I also have problems after my computer "sleeps" at night. When reactivated in the morning, I cannot get the phone to work. For some reason Magicjack will send still call my contacts, but it will not recognize my phone. I cannot hear or send verbally. I recently restarted Magicjack and it still does not recognize my phone. I changed to a new wire, same results.


I have to reboot the entire system, then it works OK. That defeats the sleep option.

Any recommendations? Windows 7 Pro 64 Bit.

Since you say you have been using MJ for 2 years this is the first time you have noticed MJ does NOT work with the PC in sleep mode? It never has. One usually needs to reboot the PC or shut down MJ, unplug the dongle and then plug it back in for it to work AFTER your PC comes out of sleep mode.
As far as X no longer minimizing, one can assume the people who program MJ's softphone made that change for reasons they only know. it would not surprise me down the road they change it back and then do it again. Just like the Air Card option, was there, then not and here again..

OK, thank for your information. I was under the assumption that only I had that Sleep problem. Funny, I have to reboot the entire computer. It does not work with rebooting MJ.

You are welcome.
Depending on your OS you may or may not be able to shut dowm MJ and then unplug and plug the dongle back in after the PC has gone to sleep. That is why I gave both scenarios.
