Auto-delete voicemails
Is there any way to continue having MJ voicemail emails sent but auto-delete from the MJ servers without having to manually dial in regularly to make sure your voicemail folder doesn't get full?
EDIT: OK, apparently once you get 100 voicemails, MJ will auto-delete them from their server to make room for new ones. I had received word from my mother that she received a "no room left to leave vms" type message but hey, she's 80, maybe she made it up or something.

No . . . she did not make it up. You get 100 voice-mails and then it stops taking them. You have to manually delete them. There is no auto delete. Just spam #7 of the number pad 100 times over. That is what I do.

Customer support can reset voice mail, which you don't want done because you have to redo greetings and the password, but they might be able to delete all of them at one time without screwing up the rest of it. Of course it could be quicker just doing them one at a time the next time you visit. Will give you something to do while she tells you about her aches and pains.
Another solution would be to crack a whip at mom to train her to answer the phone before it goes to voice mail. Just joking, of course? But 100 voice mails does seem like a lot for a little old lady. Unless she makes book for Lucky Louie, just joking again, of course?

If you read the OPs post he has stated that his mother was the one to receive the Quote: "no room left to leave vms" message. Logic suggests that she was calling him and got the message. For if it were the other way around she would have received the "Your mailbox is full" message.nailgunner wrote:Another solution would be to crack a whip at mom to train her to answer the phone before it goes to voice mail. Okay. 100 voice mails seems like a lot for a middle aged man. Unless he is Lucky Louie making book. Feel better?Barada Nels wrote:If you read the OPs post he has stated that his mother was the one to receive the Quote: "no room left to leave vms" message. The situation about a full mailbox was understood, and a possible solution of having support delete all 100 was offered. The only misunderstanding was whose mailbox was full which had no real bearing on the issue, except who was going to manually delete 100 calls with your offered solution.Barada Nels wrote:Hey, only returning the favor. You get all pissy whenever anyone says something that you do not agree with. Well . . . this time you didn't even understand the situation . . . or is that every time?!?!?!
LMAO!!!
If someone says something I don't agree with, I just state my opposing opinion. The pissing matches generally start when someone doesn't like their opinions being challenged. A case in point is someone not liking that someone stated a differing opinion than the one he recently posted that:
"Too much spyware is introduced by the MagicJack to use it on a work/play computer."
LMAO!!!

I offered no solution to this issue. Only informed that manually deleting is the only way I know of. You offered a possible solution that is not possible. You must be getting us confused.nailgunner wrote:The situation about a full mailbox was understood, and a possible solution of having support delete all 100 was offered. As for the pissing matches. I never had an issue with you or anyone else challenging my opinions. I feel MagicJack adds too much spyware. You do not. You are the one hung up on my statement. I could care less if you agree with it or not.
And why did you post on the other thread? I had to bump it to post that the "fix" no longer worked. You are the one that bumped it with your ignorance.
Seriously, if you would just read and attempt to understand what others write . . . you would not feel so frustrated that you have to argue every point and make fun of people's 80 year old mothers. That is why I even engaged in acknowledging your existence again. "Crack a whip at mom" and "complains about her aches and pains" . . . you are an ASSHAT, sir. Bottom line!

Manually deleting them by spaming 7, 100 times wasn't a solution to deleting the email box?Barada Nels wrote:I offered no solution to this issue. Only informed that manually deleting is the only way I know of. You offered a possible solution that is not possible.
I said support might be able to delete them on their end, not that they could. And as far as I know, no one has contacted MJ support to see if they can just delete the full mailbox on their end. But if you have such a reference I would encourage you to share it with the rest of the forum.
But that's why the whole discussion escalated. I wasn't hung up on the statement. You just kept on insisting on saying that you didn't say it.Barada Nels wrote:As for the pissing matches. The English Comprehension class I took back in 4th grade taught me that this sentence:Barada Nels wrote:And why did you post on the other thread? I had to bump it to post that the "fix" no longer worked. You are the one that bumped it with your ignorance.
"further bumping of this thread is not necessary
tells the interested reader that bumping in the future isn't necessary. Not that you were bumping it so that we noticed the fix was no good. I believe that could have been accomplished by saying "I bumped this so that all of you ignoring this know that the fix didn't work"
I'm not sure how old you are, but you sound like a young "whipper-snapper". You would do well to develop a sense of humor and stop taking life, and side jokes in a forum, so serious. Life is way too short to take even something as important as phone service so seriously that you can't enjoy an occasional joke. You are on your way to a stroke before you hit middle age at this rate. And for the record, since the OP cracked a joke about his mom in the original post, I assumed he wouldn't mind a follow up joke. If he is offended, that is one thing, if you are offended, meh. Chill out.Barada Nels wrote:Seriously, if you would just read and attempt to understand what others write . . . you would not feel so frustrated that you have to argue every point and make fun of people's 80 year old mothers. #1. No it is not a solution because even the OP knew and stated that it was an option and because it is the MOST basic way to delete voice-mails. That is like saying: "How do you use a computer? You turn it on!" It is also a given that they cannot just delete voice-mails. If you have reference to dissuade this thought process . . . then you are encouraged to share with the rest of the class.
#2. When did I ever state that I did not say that MagicJack has spyware? Please post it. Because I have only ever stated that I did not say what you tried to put into my mouth . . . like you are doing now.
#3. The entire point of that bump was that it did not work. I did not want to insult anyone's intelligence by stating such a blatant fact. This is yet another example of how you do not read people's posts or are unable to understand what people post.
#4. I sound young because it is insulting to read someone making fun of a person's 80 year old mother? Wow dude . . . just wow. And the OP didn't make fun of his mother . . . he stated that: "she's old so maybe she made it up or something". And if that was indeed him making fun of his mother, that was not an invitation for you and your idiocy to join in. *Time for Nailgunner logic* Because if it was an invitation he should have stated: "This is an invitation for you guys to rag on my 80 year old mom . . . have a field day!"
At the end of the day . . . you are indeed an asshat. And I am not the only person on here that has made this observation. So carry on! It is what you do. I am not condoning or condemning . . . only observing. If you do not like my observation, then post it as plainly as humanly possible. It is what you ask of the rest of us after all . . .

He only mentioned dialing in manually to make sure it wasn't full. He makes no mention of deleting anything. It's not the same thing. But it does beg the question, that if you are such a fan of not wanting to "to insult anyone's intelligence by stating such a blatant fact" as you so proudly stated elsewhere, why you would think it was necessary in this case?Barada Nels wrote:#1. No it is not a solution because even the OP knew and stated that it was an option
You're right. Except that you misquoted yourself and I ignored it. You didn't say:Barada Nels wrote:#2. When did I ever state that I did not say that MagicJack has spyware? Please post it. Because I have only ever stated that I did not say what you tried to put into my mouth . . . like you are doing now.
"I feel MagicJack adds too much spyware as you stated in the post above. You actually stated that:
"Too much spyware is introduced by the MagicJack to use it on a work/play computer.
So I apologize for not catching that you mis-quoted yourself sooner.
Why insult our intelligence by stating that no bump was needed at all? If it was such a blatant fact, why state anything about a bump being or not being needed?Barada Nels wrote:#3. The entire point of that bump was that it did not work. I did not want to insult anyone's intelligence by stating such a blatant fact.
You can't even make a decent analogy. Me following the tone of his joking, does not equate to me pointing out that "apparently" what you posted isn't what you meant with the "bumping" post. But I am certainly glad that you have appointed yourself the joke police on what is and isn't an appropriate joke for posts. Maybe you can come up with a sticky that we can use as a guide. Or maybe you should spend more time coming up with a better derogatory word than asshat. Or better yet you could let the person who the post was directed at decide if it was offensive or not.Barada Nels wrote:#4. Edit: Oh, and I am still waiting for your evidence that my suggestion would not work, which you so strongly stated "was not possible", and have seem to have glossed over now. Or like some of your other black-and-white statements, do you now need to amend it to "in your opinion"?
Edit#2: I'm out for personal reasons until probably Monday or Tuesday. If things go well, I look forward to your sticky outlining the correct postings when I get back. Please be as descriptive as possible. Are all old people off limits, or just women? (My mom has a sense of humor, so excluding them would insult her, but I guess so be it). Are we concerned about PETA and thus avoiding animal references? I've also seen some political comments, are both parties okay or do you want to limit that as well? What about Libertarians and Independents? My head is spinning with the possibilities. Peace out.

I really think you are mentally impaired . . . you cannot grasp even the most basic of concepts . . . and you completely disregard when anyone says something that goes against your logic. Logic that is complete asinine at best.
I am done with you, sir. You are an asshat and I have no time for your ignorance. I never should have engaged your stupidity . . . it just bothers me when people rag on the elderly.

In the meantime I will await you backing up your statement that my suggestion "was not possible". Of course it is easier to just call names instead of having to actually back up your own statements.Barada Nels wrote:Points and Laughs! Yeah, yeah, yeah, blah, blah, blah. Interesting. Are you always in the habit of making black-and-white statements before you know the actual answer?
