VoipMyWay not working

Post by N7AS »

For the last week or so I can't make any outbound calls on my VoipMyWay phone. Inbound works ok. Not sure how this will affect 911 calls, as I haven't needed to call them. I have sent 3 emails to support and have not received a single reply. Has anyone else had any problems?

Just checked and my voipmyway is working fine. I have mine going through my obi though. Maybe try a reboot of the pap2?

Just tried that and same results. This service was better when Mike ran it. I may just bail out and use Localphone for the home line and program the backend 911 number in the dialplan. Localphone is FREE inbound and $0.005 per/min outbound. That's 1/2 cent per minute.

I found that when I call a TollFree number such as 800, 866, 877 etc. I get the fast busy, but calling regular numbers are fine. Go figure.

Fast busy usually means minutes are used up or a bad route. Did you ever get through to the guys at eliglobal (the new owners) to have it corrected?

I replied to them that only toll free was affected. Have not heard back from them since. Maybe they just don't care about their customers.

Can the ATA be placed in front of the router?

Placing the ATA in front is the recommended configuration. Though many ISP's will not work like that as then you will not have the ability to connect your computers to the internet.
