MagicJack+ stops responding to inbound calls

Post by JimH »

I have recently purchased MJ+ and have deployed it directly connected to my D-Link DIR-625 wireless router. The device seems to work just fine when initially set up but after some time it will no longer respond to inbound calls. Instead, inbound callers are sent directly to voice mail. However, if I make an outbound call then the device will again receive inbound calls for a variable period of time before the problem resurfaces. I contacted chat support who told me to set up port forwarding for 5060 and 5070 and have made those changes. Unfortunately this did not resolve my issue.

I have noticed that when I connect my MJ+ directly to my AT&T DSL modem the device functions without issue. This leads me to believe I am missing something else when it comes to configuring the D-Link. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Not sure if this is your problem but it has helped others.
Look in the USB section of Device Manger for USB ROOT HUB(S) Be sure to disable any power saving setting(s). You will have more than one USB ROOT HUB section. Check them all.
Re-boot and hope for the best...

Thanks for the tip. I am sure this is unrelated as I am running the MJ+ via its powersupply which is plugged into a standard outlet.
