Error 23 / MagicJack+
We've had our MJ+ for over a month with no issues until yesterday. I picked it up to make a call, and the voice said "Error 23" and hung up. No dial tone.
I just unplugged the MJ+ from the surge protector and plugged it back in a few mins later, and it worked fine again. But, any ideas on what caused that error to happen in the first place?

may have been assigned a new ip
It is possible that your router lost contact for a little bit and the ip number changed but the jack didn't get the message. Unplugging and plugging back into will let it refresh and reestablish a connection.

support provided a fix
I had to run an update (provided through chatting with support) to fix the issue. I had to unplug the MJ+ from the router, plug it into the laptop, run the update, plug it back in the router and now all is fine. We have Comcast high speed Internet and the MJ+ has worked very well for us. I'd recommend it to anyone over paying at least $20 a month for home phone service.

I'm on Charter cable and the MJ+ runs great, about twice a month I find it necessary to reset the modem,Linksys router and MJ+ when I notice a slow down in pulling up web pages on my computer.nesselrode wrote: We have Comcast high speed Internet and the MJ+ has worked very well for us. I have them on a UPS power strip one switch resets them all.

Error 23
I also have this problem. It comes and goes, a power reset to the MJ+ has always fixed it. Chat support has been useless. Sometimes it resets itself, the green lite stays on steady along with the yellow lite. After some length of time the green flashes wildly and then the yellow goes back to its normal 2 sec blink cycle. The fixes for the D-link router did not really resolve the problem, just changed the number of times a day that the MJ+ went offline. Sure looks like a software bug to me.

Error 23
I'm still troubleshooting this error. The MJ+ calls home about every 30 minutes or so. If it does not make connection to its server, it puts the out to lunch sign up (Error 23) and then it can take a variable amount of time b4 it again comes alive. In my case, it took another 30 mins for it to "discover" that it indeed had a connection to the server. If you power down the MJ+, it immediately calls home when the power is restored and your error 23 goes away. It does not seem to have a very robust connection software and any interruption of your internet access can bring this thing down if it occurs when it is calling home. Given the "fix" mentioned above, I am less concerned about the issue than when I first bought it since it was blocking outgoing calls and VMing the incoming. I've played with the router settings to no avail. But today, my internet service light on the modem has, for the first time in years, is now on continuously and the MJ+ has NOT failed today.
