One way speech path from the phone on the magic jackplus
I have a DLINK router model DIR-615 and was getting one way speech path from the phone on the magic jack plus.
When I made a call from the magic jack to another phone, the other phone I called could not hear the caller on the magic jack plus.
Everything else worked fine.
This happened when the makic jack plus was connected directly to the router or to a computer connected to the router.
All worked well when the magic jack plus was connected directly to the cable modem.
To solve the issue, I setup the IP of the magic jack plus in a DMZ on the router.
Now the magic jack plus works like a charm when connected to the router.
The DMZ (Demilitarized Zone) option lets you set an IP on your network outside of the router.
If you have a computer that cannot run Internet applications successfully from behind the router, then you can place the computer and in this case the magic jack into the DMZ for unrestricted Internet access.
I think this is a new symptom with the magicc jack plus because I didn't have this issue with the original magic jack.
Could you be experiencing the same problem?
You may want to try this out, it worked for me.
