Can't call a Vonage Extension and nobody will

Post by CoyoteLoco »

HI Guys

wondering if someone has the same problem and can help me out,

My configuration is Vonage at home with a free extension configured with a MJ Number, Now Vonage as well Magic Jack are working Fine no issues

Now the problem I have is every time I dial the Vonage access number (from my MJ) right after the last number I get a dial tone instead of a recording message asking me for my PIN

If i call the access number from my mobile or even the vonage they work but not from my magic jack, any idea what is going on???

I also open a case to MJ they told me this could be a routing problem but after 10 days nothing happen not even a single email from them

examples of Access numbers

(213) 289-0645
(213) 289-0652
(215) 882-9054
(312) 878-3237
(312) 878-3240
(404) 891-0922
(407) 476-0556
(415) 363-0425
(612) 808-6641
(614) 407-0171
(646) 558-6915
(720) 452-0163

After 2 weeks and 6 different chats today (1st time was Rhett, 2nd time was Anna, 3rd time was Dustin, 4th time was Bert, 5th time was Adam and 6th time Evert) , I give up, MJ support is TOTALLY USELESS they don't care about customers , the support rep have no clue how to deal with issues or even worse with people. their lack of commitment will drive MJ to the end in few years

Supervisors make statement like:

"S???: I already submitted a report about you not able to call certain numbers. I have forwarded it to our Engineers and they are currently checking your issue now. Please try to check your email from time to time for updates on the progress of your issue. Rest assured that this will be taken cared of and will be prioritize. If any chances, it is still not working. Please notify us immediately. To be convenient for you, please do ask for my name Sharon or any available supervisors so that you will be forwarded to us immediately for that matter. Thank you so much for your cooperation and patience. I appreciate it.?

and not even a single email, MJ is fine their people is USELESS, I am returning 4 MJ this weekend

Yes it seems they have blocked all the access numbers to vonage extensions because they are loosing money. I have talked like 20 times to them and also my friends and it seems to be "a routing problem" please check for any updates your email... This was like about a month ago and i havent had any reply from them. Why do I need a magic jack if i cant dial numbers hahahaha, very stupid. Now their product sucks big time...

Per a forum moderator, they do block traffic-pumping exchanges. And per a site moderator while they don't "per se" block the entire 712 area code, but if you want to call someone in it, you will have to pre-pay ahead of time.

Yeah well the numbers blocked with MJ are not 712 area codes. But anyway thanks for the info... Maybe traffic pumping numbers could be it with those numbers mentioned above... Maybe the 712 numbers are blocked with MJ but i just want to make calls to (213) 289-0649 which is vonage extensions...

No there is something else going on with MJ. I cannot get GoogleVoice to call mine. They apparently recently stopped all blocked or private calls from connecting into MJ. May not be connected, but it coincides with my GV issue, so maybe they did something that is also interfering with GV and Vonage?

If NetTalk is blocking 712 area codes I have little doubt MJ is as well. My response wasn't to you, it was to the "NetTalk doesn't do this" post. They apparently do, which means they can always increase what they are blocking at anytime. Although their track record is no where close to being as bad as MJ. Sorry I continued with the thread hi-jacking.
