USING MY OWN ANSWERING MACHINE WITH CALLER ID

Post by HOBART »

Is it possible to use my own answering machine on MJ PLUS?
Perhaps turn off MJ answering service or changing # of rings before answering?
To allow my machine to pick up?

Yes you can. Set you answering machine to pick up after the 4th ring.

You mean BEFORE the 4th ring...
If it is AFTER then MJ VM picks up and as of right now there is no way to turn off MJ VM.

Of course you can buy the add on MagicRingForever from http://www.pcphonesoft.com/ BUT you have to have your Plus in your USB and computer on for it to work correctly.

Agreed with above post, set it to pick up before the 4th ring. Don't forget to set your wireless router date and time settings, if you don't the answering machine time stamp will be wacky every time the phone rings..... ask me how I know .................
