Cannot Hear Voices on instate incoming calls

Hi,
I have had MJ for 2 weeks now. I had no problem porting my number.
I can make and receive incoming out of state calls fine.
I can make outgoing instate (Area Code 860) with no problem.
My problem is that I cannot hear the other person when they make an instate call to me (860 to 860).
I have spent way too much time with their tech chat to no avail.
The problem is now in the hand of the engineers who are "working on it as we speak" since last week and that I should check my email every "now and then' because they will email me when the problem is solved.
Any help would be appreciated.

I have sort of the same problem. When I call out I can see the UDP voice stream go both ways and enjoy a 2 way conversation. I also observe 2-way UDP when I click on VMAIL. However, when a call comes in they can hear me but I cannot hear them - and the UDP data stream goes out but there is nothing coming in after the initial caller ID burst.

I've worked with MJ over the past several days and it's arduous. Finally they contacted engineering. I have no resolution date. Engineering will contact me.

Finally they contacted engineering. I have no resolution date. Engineering will contact me.

That is the canned response they give when they don't have a clue what else to tell you and want you to get off of their chat. Also known as the MagicJack Black Hole Engineering Department.

I would pursue other trouble shooting methods if I were you. I've been waiting 4 weeks or so for an email on my GoogleVoice issue and quite frankly, never expect to receive one.

Regrettably, you are probably right. Perhaps they really do not have an engineering staff, only a chat group. It seems chat is all canned. Perhaps it really is Eliza.

Probably so and when they say they are transfering you to someone "higher" up? All they do is sit on a phone book to make them sit higher up

Good news. Today I was thanked for my eagerness to get it fixed. I was informed it's not my "profile" and engineering will email me.

They seem to put their faith in the chat / engineering silo and will not commit to a date because they've gotten into trouble (the other silo can't get'r done?). Repeated requests to move it up the chain (further escalation) did not seem to work.

Not sure what happened yet but I now have 2-way voice for both in and out. I muddied it up a little this morning by trying to utilize a MJ through a VPN. It did not work - got all the adds, 911, contacts and such but would not connect [error 3]. So I call the chat line. An interesting conversation, to say the least. Anyway, I was asked where am I calling from. Perhaps that piece was fed into the system.

I killed the VPN and resumed MJ. A little later I noticed CPU usage that did not usually happen when it's idle. So I did a couple of test calls. Time will tell if it lasts.

I have the problem when i call a certain number i can hear them but they can't hear me.
They are on a normal land line and i was working before a few days ago.

The 3 numbers that I could not call are working today, cause unknown. Perhaps the MJ engineers will email me that it's working, maybe not.
