outbound calls
all seems to be well except one specific number in the next town over. It is a different area code and exchange then my own, but all other calls to this area code and exchange go through no problem. I get a few rings then a recording that the call cant go through? They can call me of course. I figured even if they had anonymous call reject activated it should still go through because my number shows up on caller id's. Would the no name thing be an issue? Anyone else have this problem?

just found another local number I can't call. It's a little frustrating, but not the end of the world. Just curious if anyone knows why I can't call these specific numbers or if it's maybe hit or miss? They are local numbers and are not blocked by magic jack. These are at&t customers in the next town over. Not a big enough deal to contact tech support. Thanks
Outbound calls
There are 2 numbers, in the small set of numbers that I call, that I cannot complete. One is 203 and the other is 860 in the (same town). I know the 203 one is AT&T. Both can be called from my Verizon Cell. I am able to call other 203 and 860 numbers, no problem. I was AT&T until porting to mj.
I have chatted with mj on this and have been advised it is with a higher department and to wait until I get an email.

Haha. I think they tell everyone that. It just so happens that I'm from Ct. as well. One of the number is 203 in Wallingford and the other is 860 in Hartford. They can call me of course. Its really strange because other numbers in the same area code and exchange go through no problem. I'm assuming we're just gonna have to deal with the occasional hiccup.
We're sorry. Your call cannot be completed as dialed ...
Based on the message, your are supposed try it again or call the mj operator for assistance. Has anyone tried this? How does it play out?
I have the same experience. They can call me too, which is a good thing.
It seems there is a lot of setup that mj has to do to make it work. They've been around for a while so they should have the telco stuff all figured out. I suppose they are sorry because they cannot get it done. Each time there is a number that does not work I inform them, referencing previous chats, to help them in their troubleshooting.

Bad Numbers
Additional information: both numbers are AT&T (prior SNET). I can call other numbers in the exchange.

Problem calling certain exchanges. Here's what to do
Send an email to [email protected] and usually the problem will be fixed in a few days (maybe sooner).
Privacy Manager
Another piece of information. Found another number - I know 2 out of the 3 use AT&Ts Privacy Manager. It's basically a fancy answering machine. Perhaps MJ is not using the right protocols, or the Privacy Manager is using old protocols?

Thank you so much for the contact. He responded to me within a day and had my problem fixed within 2 days. He was nice to deal with and obviously new what he was doing. Thanks again!!jne1970 wrote:Send an email to [email protected] and usually the problem will be fixed in a few days (maybe sooner).

He didn't(unfortunately). I can tell you that the 1st time he had me try it, it still didn't work. Just had a different recording. The 2nd time it went through no problem and I've called the number a few times since. I can also tell you that while they were working on it, the person I couldn't reach received about 15 calls where it would ring once and then dead air(presumably mj working on the issue). They weren't too happy about that.nailgunner wrote:Did he tell you what was causing the problem? Curious minds are.....well.....curious.
Update - Suddenly Working
The 3 numbers that I could not call are working today, cause unknown. Perhaps the MJ engineers will email me that it's working, maybe not.
