Was going to sell this, decided to keep it, now thinking of selling again. Too much hassle!!
I couldn't get the magic jack to work until I purchased a vpn plan. Does anybody here have any advice, tips, tricks to get the magic jack to work without a vpn plan? I would hate to always pay for vpn to use magic jack, kind of defeats the purpose.
So without connecting to vpn, my friends phones back in the us would ring. But once they pick it up, we cannot hear or speak to each other. But when connected to the VPN service which makes my ip address as if I was in Los Angeles, we were then able to talk to each other.
I read something about certain ports that needs to be open. Maybe the VPN is set up in a way where those ports are opened. Can I configure my router to do this without VPN? Of course, this is moot if Hong Kong is indeed blocked.
I just want confirmation if it's indeed blocked, or if there is something I can do. Thank you in advanced!
