GVapp + Record Function

Post by Darkman90808 »

I started to send a PM to redpepper asking if he knew of a way to record with Google Voice or if it could be added to his app.

I wanted to avoid the inevitable discussion of legal issues with recording phone conversations that go on ad nauseum.

But I decided, instead, to put it out to the forum. I know GV will let you record incoming calls by pressing 4, but it will also turn on/off randomly if you leave the setting on.

There are a number of apps for Skype but I haven't been able to find one for GV. Any thoughts and comments other than lectures about privacy violations are appreciated. Thanks!

How about after you hit the #4 key to record, and after that call, you then go into the GVJACK app and click the setting to turn off the beeps? This SHOULD lower the risk of someone's voice triggering the #4 key again and accidently turning on the record fuction of GV..

Just a thought.

Joe - thanks! Actually, that's pretty clever.

(How is it that ever time someone comes up with a good idea, I think of it second?!)

I really don't need this; I'm just surprised I haven't been able to find an app for it.

Like I said... I don't really need it. More of a curiosity question.

You can also turn PIN dialing on and off during any given call by dialing ##1 and ##0 after the call has connected.

A separate call recording add on is planned for the GVJack App.

We have already completed the feasibility study including a working prototype that provides high quality dual channel recording that can be broken down into single channels for listening if required.

It will also include the ability to enable call recording beeps as required by law in some states.

Woo hoo! I knew there was a Santa Claus!! That is really great news. There are times when I want to record a call, usually to remember something specifiic, like a phone number or directions.

I learned a long time ago, I'm not the economic indicator on these things, but based on past experience, I predict a homerun. Thanks for the advance notice.
