Just got in my MJ+. I can call out just fine and call quality is great. But when I call the MJ+ number from my cell phone (to test it), the call does not go through (ie. the phone connected to the MJ+ doesn't ring).
I searched all over the net and tried a few things and couldn't get it fixed.
Here's my current setup:
Cable jack > Cable modem > Router > MJ+
My router is a Linksys WRT54G2 flashed with dd-wrt.
I tried disabling the SPI firewall... that didn't work.
I port-forwarded ports 5060 and 5070... that didnt work.
I tried assigning a static IP to the MJ+ mac, then adding it to a DMZ... that didn't work either.
Im not sure what else to do! Any help is appreciated!

Did you check on your MJ account ( www.my.magicjack.com) to see if you have receive incoming calls enabled? Something you may have missed when you first set up your MJ registration.

I would try it plugged into your PC to see if it works then, if yes than you may need to play with some of your router settings ( like disable SIP ALG)
Of course you may want to try another phone too.
I would also try a better quality Cat 5 cable than the one wich comes with the Plus.
Just a few things off the top of my head, of course a search of this site might help too.

Here's some closure for any readers with the same problem:
With some more research, I found that the version of dd-wrt that Im running doesn't support VOIP. I tried looking into flashing an upgrade into the router so that it would support VOIP. As it turns out, my router only has 2mb flash and the new VOIP-supporting version is too large for it.
My next attempt at making this work is to get a network hub (cheaper than a new router) to bypass my worthless router.

did u elect to keep your current number?
I have the same issue going on with my MJ+ and found out that because I elected to keep my current phone number, there is NO WAY I can receive my incoming phone calls during this transition which can take up to 10 days. But that is the ONLY reason for the hold up, it's because I elected to keep my current phone number, so I just have to be patient..........FWIW.
