MagicJack Iphone App

Post by GibsonGK55 »

This application has been nothing but problems. I think it is poorly made. I bought an iphone specifically so I could use the magicjack app. From the beginning i wouldn't receive calls. Then i would get delayed calls. I would call my app from another magic jack and the iphone wouldn't ring. I hang up the computer connected magic jack and about three minutes later the call rings.

People would call sometimes and get an advertisement for magic jack instead of my voice mail.

Many other problems but this is the worst of them all. Last week I was told this has happened six times now. Someone would call my magicjack app on my iphone and it would answer and they could hear everything I was saying in my office. The iphone never rang never made a sound. This is very dangerous and a security risk.

I am considering removing this application and go back to plugging it into the computer. Magic jack support told me I need a fast internet connection. Well I mainly use the iphone app when i am in the office or home with a fast connection. Anyone else have these problems?

Also how do you completely remove the app off the iphone if I need to?

Thanks,

Gibs

Okay today it happened about 4 times again by a friend that told me. So the magicjack app is very unsafe to use. They refuse to make this thing work as it should. I chatted without support and they are not too well informed.

I was told to turn notifications off to turn off the app. I did this and called it and it still rang. So the only way to get rid of this security risk is to remove the app. Then do a restore without the app from itunes to wipe it out hopefully. I am waiting to hear back from apple as well.

The iOS app works fine. To make sure that it works properly, turn the phone's AND the app's Notifications ON, and make sure its alert is set to ON even when the phone is "locked." Then go into your online MJ account, go to voicemail settings, and make sure that the app is set to ring for at LEAST 30 seconds (preferably one minute) before it sends calls to voicemail; if the app is "sharing" the same number with a MJ device be sure to set that device's voicemail delay to the same lengthy. Then go into your account's "Advanced" settings and make sure that the app etc. is set to be able to both receive and dial out.

Lastly, using the app with a 3g cellular data service is NOT recommended - only with 4g and Wi-Fi.
